SINGED AND NUMBERED AND FRAMED > JOHN MELLENCAMP PAINTING /(PRINT)NUMBERE D - #389 OF 750. (VERY RARE)

Here is a book of selected paintings by John Mellencamp, some of these are very strange, or sad. Also in this book is a collectors concert patch that someone has stuck in the inside cover, it is John Mellencamp Feb. 15 1992 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento Ca. This is in good condition no writing inside, just the sticker which is kind of cloth like. This book is 36 pages, all of the pictures could be framed, it is a nice heavy shiney paper.

by John Mellencamp

STEVE KEENE PAINTING: This brilliant piece of art from Steve Keene is a "must own" for any serious collector of Outsider Art or rock and roll imagery! Keene is infamous for his cover art for Pavement (Wowee Zowee), Silver Jews, and The Apples In Stereo to name a few. An original piece like this is tough to come by. Some of Keene's lesser works have been offered previously on eBay, but never JOHN MELLENCAMP! This piece of Keene art measures just over 12" by 12" and is done on 1/8" scrap wood board, his medium of choice with the obligatory one small drill hole. Ready to hang, it pictures John Mellencamp (with cool leather jacket) and reads "The Kid Inside". Lower right signed "SK 97."

These two drawings were hand drawn by rock  musician John Mellencamp. They are un-signed and have no certificate of  authenticity. My brother used to own an Art Gallery and Frame shop in  Bloomington, Indiana ( the Phoenix & Dragon ) where John used to patronize.  Many of Johns' Original Oil Paintings were framed by my brother. These two  drawings came from a sketch pad that belonged to John and were given to my  brother from John. I have a letter dated 6/29/90 written by my brother  documenting this. I understand that having no signature or certificate of  authenticity makes this seem "fishy" - I can only give you my word as a  reputable art dealer in Bloomington, Indiana - and the letter that will  accompany the drawings.
