KERNEL Problems - Made a new kernel and now
it wont boot up the machine, what do I do ?
This is not a fun problem to have, but I think at one time or another we've all done it, whether we were trying to trim our Kernel's or just trying to build a new one from scratch, for one reason or another the machine wont load.
So, how do we fix this... Pretty quick fix, here is what you need to do....
As the machine starts to boot type the following /kernel.old
(Don't forget the forward slash) The machine will then boot on the old Kernel, and you can then once back to a prompt, build a new Kernel, and compile a new one, and now, you are back in business. If you don't know for sure how to build and compile a Kernel, Click Here.
